“There is no problem in science that can be solved by a man that cannot be solved by a woman.” – Vera Rubin

Writing about Vera, Professor Indulekha said that “she made an inalienable space for women in science, outliving and countering the derogatory comments her high school physics teacher made about women in science.”

Indulekha also quotes Mika McKinnon who commented that Vera Rubin “made science kinder and the culture of research more human.”

When Indulekha stepped down from the School of Pure and Applied Physics (SPAP), MGU, today, after three decades of distinguished service, what else we can think about her – other than her role in making “science kinder and the culture of research more human.”

Such an amazing woman she has been – unpretentious, humble, and ineffable.

Best wishes Indulekha for an unending exploration ‘in space and time.’
